Leave to Construct Application

On December 21, 2012 Enbridge filed an application with the OEB for leave to construct the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) Project.  The purpose of the GTA Project is to:

 i)   support future customer growth for the period 2015 to 2025;

 ii)  eliminate distribution system constraints;

iii)  diversify gas supply entry points into the Enbridge distribution system;

iv)  reduce operational risks; and

v)   provide improved reliability, risk mitigation, and cost savings for upstream gas supply. 

The GTA Project has a western component, referred to as Segment A and an eastern component, referred to as Segment B.

On January 30, 2014, the OEB issued the Decision and Order granting approval of the GTA Project.
