Meter Not Registering?

Occasionally, your gas meter may fail to record consumption accurately. If this happens, we usually detect the problem and may remove your meter for testing. We also adjust any inaccurate charges.


Estimating consumption

Should your meter fail for any reason, we estimate your consumption during the unrecorded period. Even if your meter fails, you are responsible for paying for the gas you have consumed.

We base our estimate on either your average daily consumption in the recent past or your consumption during the corresponding period in a previous year.

If we find a problem with your meter, we will notify you by phone or mail.
