Getting gas to you

At Enbridge Gas, we understand that your life takes energy. We don't make the big holiday meal or deliver the hot water for your shower — our job is to provide the energy that makes those things possible.

How does natural gas get to your home?

How we bring natural gas to you

At Enbridge Gas, natural gas from across Ontario is delivered to you through over 37,600 kilometers of pipeline.

Most natural gas used in Canada comes from Alberta and British Columbia. Rich reserves of natural gas have been discovered off the coasts of Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador. Some natural gas also comes from the United States.

Enbridge Gas Distribution owns and operates most of the infrastructure that makes this possible — from pipelines across the province, right up to the natural gas meter on the side of your home.

About natural gas

Natural gas is the cleanest burning fossil fuel and is produced from decomposing plants and animals, pressed for millions of years under tons of rock and soil.

How safe is natural gas?

Natural gas is one of the safest sources of energy. However, it is very flammable and, like any burning fuel, has the potential to produce odourless carbon monoxide.

Your safety is important to us. Learn more about how to use natural gas safely.

A green future

We are committed to creating cleaner energy for our environment.
