Try a natural gas barbecue

Looking for a way to enhance your summer cook-outs? A natural gas barbecue is a great choice for outdoor grilling and cooking.  Here’s why you should consider one.

Natural gas barbecues are safe and easy to use. They heat up quickly, allowing you to be ready to grill within minutes. Since they’re hooked up through your home’s natural gas connection, you’ll never have to worry about running out of propane, or refilling a tank

These grills often feature multiple burners with individual controls, which allow you to cook different foods all at the same time. This is perfect if you’re cooking for a large, hungry group. Plus, the direct and consistent heat of a natural gas barbecue ensures that your meat will be cooked evenly, without any hot spots

The initial cost of a natural gas barbecue is slightly higher than a propane one, but because you won’t need to refill your tank as you would with propane, you’ll actually save time and money in the long run. Plus, natural gas is also less expensive than propane. You’ll also need to factor in the one-time charge of having a gas line installed for your barbecue -- which should only be done by a registered heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) contractor.

Happy grilling

What to look for

Look for a natural gas barbecue that has some of the following features:

At least 400 square inches of grilling space, especially if you like to cook different foods at the same time, and for a group of people.

An electronic ignition system for easy lighting;

A fat drainage system to help prevent flare-ups;

A two-burner system which has better heat control;

Other added features that can give your food that extra flare, like warming racks, a food prep area, ceramic rear burners, kabob cookers, or rotisseries.
