As a new natural gas customer, we’d like to share some tips to help you use natural gas safety and manage your account:

1. Natural gas smells like rotten eggs. If you smell gas, leave the area and call us at 1-866-763-5427. This free emergency service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

2. A complete collection of tips and information is always available to help you use natural gas safely.

3. Your gas meter measures your home's natural gas use. We read your gas meter every other month and calculate estimates for the months in between. You can also submit your own readings. Learn more about meter reading.

4. Keep access to your meter clear to help keep your account up to date and your home safe. Especially during the winter months, your meter, pressure regulator and appliance vents need to be kept clear.

5. Check out our interactive bill to help you understand the items that appear on your monthly bill. As a new customer, your first bill may include an account set-up fee and security deposit charge.

6. Enbridge provides a billing service to companies that are not owned by or affiliated with Enbridge. If you decide to buy a product or service from a participating company, their charges will appear in the “Charges From Other Companies” section of your bill.

7. Enbridge does not conduct door to door sales and we do not rent, sell or provide service to natural gas appliances. Learn what to do if someone is at your door.

8. Once you receive your first bill, register for a myEnbridge account to view your bills, submit meter readings, access your payment history and more.

9. Make the switch to paperless. It’s a secure and efficient way to receive your monthly Enbridge bill. Sign in when it's convenient for you and view up to 24 bills online. You will receive an email each month to let you know that your bill is ready.
