Program Update:
Home Efficiency Rebate Plus
The Home Efficiency Rebate Plus program, delivered in partnership with the Canada Greener Homes Grant, has been a huge success. In collaboration with the Canada Greener Homes Grant, Enbridge Gas is helping over 100,000 Ontario households reduce their energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
Given the high demand for the program and the number of households that have participated, we have successfully filled all available spots earlier than expected with regard to the joint funding between Enbridge Gas and the Canada Greener Homes Grant. Effective end of day Monday, Feb. 5, 2024, we will not accept any new applicants or complete any new pre-retrofit energy assessments. Any pre-retrofit energy assessments completed after Monday, Feb. 5, 2024 will not be accepted into the program. Please note that the Canada Greener Homes Loan remains open and requires a pre-retrofit evaluation in order to apply.
Thank you to everyone who has shown interest in making important energy efficiency upgrades to help reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. If you would like to stay informed on new program offerings, please provide your email address and we will notify you as they become available.
Please note that the Enbridge Gas Home Efficiency Rebate Plus program has received an overwhelmingly positive response. As a result, our team is currently working hard to review, reconcile, and process all customer files promptly. However, due to the high volume of files being reviewed and processed, there might be a delay in payment. You should expect to receive your rebate cheque in approximately 24-30 weeks after your file was submitted by your Registered Energy Advisor. There may be a further delay if any information is missing or incomplete. You will receive an email notification once your application is processed, and your cheque is on its way. We regret to inform you that we cannot expedite any rebate payments at this time.

No, if you have already completed your pre-retrofit energy assessment by Feb. 5, 2024, this should not impact you as long as your pre-retrofit energy assessment was documented in our system. If you are unsure please reach out to your Registered Energy Advisor.
Currently, we are only accepting pre-retrofit energy assessments completed on or before Feb. 5, 2024. If you have a pre-retrofit energy assessment scheduled after Feb. 5, 2024, you do not qualify for Home Efficiency Rebate Plus rebates, as it is past the cut-off date. If you would like to stay informed on new program offerings, please provide your email address and we will notify you as they become available.

There is no impact to Canada Greener Homes Loan applications. Homeowners who wish to participate in the program can still contact a service organization to schedule a pre retrofit energy assessment which is required in order to create a loan application.

You should receive your rebate cheque approximately 24-32 weeks after your Registered Energy Advisor submits your application. This is a temporary delay because of an abundance of applications. We are working to process these applications as quickly as possible. Make sure you’ve provided your Registered Energy Advisor with the best address to send your cheque to, so it arrives as soon as possible. We also ask for your email to provide you with updates along the way.
