With a core value of safety, Enbridge Gas continues its focus on implementing cybersecurity measures to protect our customer’s confidential information and our safe, secure and reliable operations. As of June 30, 2022, we are extending our cybersecurity efforts to Enerline, requiring all Enerline subscribers to use multi-factor authentication (MFA) as part of the log in process.

MFA security will help protect confidential customer information, and our network, from unauthorized access if a subscriber’s password is compromised. When launched, every Enerline subscriber will log in and will be prompted to enter a code before accessing their information.

Note: If you are a Direct Connect customer, there will be no impact on how the Direct Connect web service accounts access your Enerline data. However, if for any reason you log into Enerline directly using your Direct Connect credentials, you will be required to set up an Enerline MFA profile.

Setting up your Enerline MFA profile

To ensure business continuity, Enerline subscribers are encouraged to proactively set up their Enerline MFA profile with the MFA option of their choice before June 30, 2022. Enerline subscribers who have not proactively set up their Enerline MFA profile will be required to do so as part of the log in process on and after June 30, 2022.

Prior to June 30, 2022, subscribers can set up their Enerline MFA profile by:

  1. Logging in to Enerline and going to the Support Menu.
  2. When the “Support” menu opens, select “Multi-Factor Authentication”.
  3. Subscribers will be presented with the following menu of “Security Methods”:
    • Okta Verify
    • Google Authenticator
      • If a subscriber wishes to set up their Enerline MFA profile on their desktop, the “Google Authenticator” method is the only option to do so. Okta Verify and SMS is not available for desktop set up.
      • If subscribers would like to set up their Enerline MFA profile using another authenticator application, they can select “Google Authenticator”. The menu item “Google Authenticator” is a catch-all option for all other authenticator application options (e.g. Microsoft Authenticator, etc.)
    • SMS/text Authentication

To assist you in setting up your Enerline MFA profile, we are pleased to offer instructions based on the “Security Method” of your choice:

Please discuss which option is best for you and your company with your information technology/systems team.

Subscribers only need to set up one authentication application method to get into Enerline. However, subscribers can set up their profile to include both desktop and mobile authentication methods.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our Enerline Support team at (519) 436–5446 or by email at enerline@enbridge.com.

Please note:  Enbridge Gas does not own, manage or technically support MFA authenticator applications. If you have any questions on which MFA authenticator application you should use or have issues with your MFA authenticator application, please contact your company’s information technology/systems team.
