Choose CNG to reduce fuel costs

Looking for a viable alternative to diesel fuel or gasoline? Compressed natural gas (CNG) is a market-ready solution that can help reduce emissions and provide a quieter drive. From highway tractors to delivery vehicles, we can help you gradually convert fleets to CNG and reduce fuel costs by as much as 50 percent.

What is CNG?

CNG is the same fuel we use to heat homes, compressed to less than one percent of its volume so it’s suitable to fuel fleets. Once vehicles are replaced or converted to CNG, you also have the option to use up to 100 percent compressed renewable natural gas (RNG) to reduce emissions further.

6 reasons to switch to CNG

50 percent lower fuel costs
CNG is a cost-effective alternative to diesel and gasoline.

Alternative to electrification
When electrification is not feasible, CNG offers a viable solution.

Easy fleet conversion
Gradually convert fleets to CNG as vehicles come due for replacement.

Reduced emissions
CNG generates fewer greenhouse gas (GHG) and NOx emissions**.

Lower maintenance costs
CNG vehicles have no emission equipment to service or upkeep.

Healthier and quieter for drivers
Improve air quality, reduce noise and enhance driver comfort.

Which fleets should convert?

Highway tractors
Transit bus
Shuttle fleets
Delivery vehicles
Street sweepers, snow plows and melters
Refuse trucks
Ambulance
Emergency vehicles

Construction vehicles

Success Stories

Carbon-negative commercial hybrid fleets

Hyliion

A leader in sustainable transportation, Hyliion is known for delivering innovative solutions to help commercial fleets reduce costs and emissions. By switching their hybrid electric/CNG engines to compressed RNG, the vehicles now achieve carbon-negative emissions.

  • Range and performance match diesel and exceed electric alternatives.
  • No other transit fuel—not even electricity— can achieve carbon negativity.
  • Diverts both methane and diesel emissions by using RNG fuel.

UPS delivers on sustainable transport

United Parcel Service (UPS)

In London, Ontario, UPS converted 25 package delivery vans to operate on CNG. Fuelling with CNG will reduce 700 metric tons of GHG emissions—equivalent to planting 11,667 trees, removing 152 cars from the road and recycling 281 metric tons of landfill waste.

  • Fuelling with CNG will significantly reduce local air pollutants.
  • The success of this pilot will inform future plans to convert additional vehicles.

How Hamilton fuels fleets for less with CNG

Hamilton Street Railway

After realizing the cost of diesel was on the rise, the City of Hamilton expanded its fleet with more than 130 new CNG buses and received funding for a new CNG station.

  • Now the highest capacity CNG fuelling station in Ontario.
  • Fast fuelling times, comparable to diesel pumps.
  • 95 percent fewer emissions improve air quality.

It’s easy to fill up fast and get back on the road

Refuel quickly and conveniently, with a well-established network of CNG fuelling stations along the 401 corridor and all the way to California.
