We exist to help fuel the quality of life in our communities

We direct our community investments to communities that fall within our service areas, across Ontario, Ohio, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, North Carolina, and Wexpro. Like many organizations, we receive numerous funding requests and in order to make a significant impact on our communities, we have a focused giving program.

Focus areas

We invest in qualified organizations and programs that promote:

Safety

  • Emergency response readiness: Supporting emergency response organizations in communities within our service areas through the Safe Community First Responder Program. This includes essential equipment, professional training, and critical services such as firehoses, "jaws-of-life" hydraulic extrication tools, automated external defibrillators (AEDs), emergency vehicles, and air ambulance services.
  • Safety planning and education: Initiatives that support community safety planning, preparedness, and awareness, including crime prevention programs, youth safety camps, AEDs in public spaces, and community safety education.
  • Disaster and crisis relief: Supporting communities impacted by natural disasters and crises through emergency relief, recovery efforts and longer-term resilience.

  • Building potential in youth: Youth initiatives and programs that empower young people and are focused on education, leadership, life skills and capacity development.
  • Celebrating culture and community: Initiatives and programs that enable communities to celebrate culture, tradition, arts, and community.

Giving guidelines

We are committed to helping improve the quality of life across the utilities we serve.

Building Strong Communities: Investment Criteria

Enbridge Gas’ community investments are guided by a core set of criteria. We consider donation and sponsorship opportunities in the communities within our operational footprint:

  • Of prime importance to the community
  • Beneficial to the greatest possible number of people
  • Significant to the long-term interests of the community
  • Supportive of one of our three core areas that we view as integral for a sustainable community

Please note: Meeting Enbridge Gas' core set of community investment criteria does not guarantee funding. Despite our significant investment in communities, we are unable to support all worthy, well-qualified organizations. Criteria may vary by location.

Enbridge Gas does not support the following types of organizations or requests:

  • Organizations discriminating on the basis of race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation
  • Requests that directly benefit individuals, including wages/salaries
  • Religious, political organizations or special interest groups
  • Recreation or sports organizations and events
  • Advertising, memberships, ticket sales, or lotteries

  • Crowd-sourced funding campaigns such as GoFundMe
  • Memorial campaigns
  • Project, program or any property recognizing or named for an individual
  • Statues or monuments
  • Travel-related costs
