Project consultation

The collective input from key stakeholders including Indigenous communities, government agencies, municipalities, stakeholders, the public and landowners play an integral role in the route and site selection process.

Prior to construction, public input is sought to ensure that the community is advised of the proposed project and involved in the decision-making process. Public consultation and engagement are key components of the project’s Environmental Report.

The consultation program also helps to identify and address stakeholder concerns and provides the opportunity for meaningful participation in the project review and development process. Input received from the public information session is used to help finalize the project and mitigation plans that may be implemented during construction.

Once the Leave to Construct (LTC) application is made to the Ontario Energy Board, any party with an interest in the project, including members of the public, may participate in this process.

Notice of Upcoming Study which also included information about how to attend the Public Information Session, were mailed to the Ontario Pipeline Coordinating Committee, agencies, local municipalities, directly and indirectly affected landowners, and Indigenous communities in July 2026.

Public information sessions (online)

Dillon Consulting Ltd. (Dillon) has been hired to conduct an environmental study to assess the potential environmental and socio-economic effects that may result from this project. Stakeholder consultation and Indigenous engagement will be a key component of this study. Enbridge Gas and Dillon are hosting a virtual information session to provide you with an opportunity to review the Project, ask questions, and provide input. Indigenous communities, regulatory agencies, and directly impacted landowners are invited to participate.

• Website will be live for 2 weeks, beginning Monday, August 17, 2026, and ending Monday, August 31, 2026

Your input will be used to confirm the preferred route and inform mitigation plans that may be implemented during construction. If you are interested in participating, or would like to provide comments, please review the session or contact the Project Manager listed here. The last day to submit comments for consideration as part of the routing analysis and selection of the preferred route is September 7, 2026. After this date, comments will still be accepted and may be integrated into Project planning, as applicable.

Regulatory information

Environmental Report:

As part of the planning process, Enbridge Gas has retained Stantec Consulting to undertake an Environmental Study for the proposed project. The Environmental Study will fulfill the requirements of the Ontario Energy Board’s Environmental Guidelines for the Location, Construction, and Operation of Hydrocarbon Projects and Facilities in Ontario, 8th Edition (2023)

The study will:

• Undertake engagement to understand the views of interested and potentially affected parties.
• Consult with Indigenous communities to understand interests and potential impacts.
• Be conducted during the earliest phase of the project.
• Identify potential impacts of the project.
• Develop environmental mitigation and protective measures to avoid or reduce potential impacts.
• Develop an appropriate environmental inspection, monitoring, and follow-up program.

In addition, it will recommend mitigation measures to limit impacts on the social, economic and natural environments. It is important to minimize potential negative impacts of the proposed natural gas distribution pipelines and associated facilities on the environment.
