Direct purchase (DP) customers are provided a banked gas account (BGA) or storage service to capture the difference between the daily natural gas supply they deliver to Enbridge Gas and the natural gas supply consumed at their end-use location(s). Customers are responsible for managing the balance in their BGA or storage account to ensure the balance stays within the agreed to parameters.

Balancing services are available to help customers manage the balance in their BGA or storage account during the contract year and at the end of the contract term. Failure to take appropriate action to balance your BGA or storage account within contract parameters will result in additional charges.

Bundled DP BGA positions are tracked in the banked gas account report for EGD rate zone customers and the DP status report for Union North and Union South delivery zone customers. Storage account balances for Rate T1, T2 and T3 customers are tracked in the South T-service allocation report.

For more information on balancing services contact your account manager or customer service representative below.

Balancing services available that can be requested through EnTRAC

  • Balancing services are posted offerings throughout the year.
  • When available, these services are approved on a first come, first served basis. Customers must submit a balancing service request through EnTRAC. If the current BGA position supports the request, it will be automatically approved.
