Uncover energy-saving opportunities in your facility

From equipment and processes to complex systems, evaluating the energy performance of your facility can help you determine the financial benefits of investing in energy-efficient improvements.

Take advantage of our Energy Solutions Advisors’ expertise in identifying opportunities, with help every step of the way. Then, explore incentives for deeper engineering studies and assessments to identify and quantify potential energy-saving measures on equipment, systems and processes.

Why conduct a study or assessment?

  • Checkmark

See how and where energy is being used.

  • Checkmark

    Identify and prioritize energy-efficiency projects.

  • Checkmark

Pinpoint problem areas that may have gone unnoticed.

  • Checkmark

Build a business case for investing in improvements.

Typical projects

Thermostat Up
Thermal surveys
Weatherproofing
Facility air balances
Fan
HVAC and energy audits
Submeter
Sub-metering identified opportunity
Cog with magnifying glass
Equipment upgrade analysis

How the program works

One

Contact an Energy Solutions Advisor for help to determine the best study or assessment for your facility.
Two

Have the on-site audit or assessment completed at your building. Pre-approval by Enbridge Gas is required.
Three

Submit invoice or proof of service to Enbridge Gas for approval following completion of the audit or assessment.
4

Receive your incentive cheque.

Is your facility eligible?

  • Checkmark

    You’re an Enbridge Gas customer.

  • Checkmark

Your facility uses natural gas for key equipment and processes.

Energy assessment incentives

Get incentives to help offset the cost of identifying and quantifying energy-saving opportunities.

Energy assessment incentives

Get incentives to help offset the cost of identifying and quantifying energy-saving opportunities.

Steam trap survey
Incentive
Must be conducted by a third-party service provider.

For steam trap replacements, incentives only apply to steam trap replacements subsequent to the third-party survey (survey must have been conducted within the last 12 months).

Ad-hoc trap repair or replacement does not qualify.
Get 50 percent of the cost, to a maximum of $6,000.
Engineering Feasibility Study
Incentive
Identify current energy costs, problem areas and energy improvements.

Feasibility studies include thermal surveys, facility air balances, HVAC audits, energy audits, benchmarking activities and equipment upgrade analyses.
50 percent of the cost, to a maximum of $10,000.
Process Improvement Study
Incentive
Get a comprehensive analysis to determine and assess the financial costs of making energy improvements on natural gas consuming equipment and processes. Generally requires baseline data measurement, collection and analysis.

Typical process improvement studies include steam plant audits, process integration analyses, heat integration studies and process operation improvement studies.
66 percent of the cost, to a maximum of $20,000.
Study Top-Ups
Incentive
Get an additional incentive for a previously funded engineering feasibility or process improvement study, once a custom engineering project has been commissioned.

Limit of one top-up per study.
Feasibility Study Top-Up: 50 percent of the cost, to a maximum of $10,000.

Process Improvement Study Top-Up: 34 percent of the cost, to a maximum of $20,000.
Meters
Incentive
Install a natural gas, steam or hot water meter to measure and monitor energy usage.

Maximum five meters per site, per year.
50 percent of the cost of each meter, to a maximum of $5,000 each.

Energy assessment incentives

Get incentives to help offset the cost of identifying and quantifying energy-saving opportunities.

Energy assessment incentives
Annual natural gas consumption 50 percent of costs, to a maximum of:
2,500,000 m3 or greater $10,000
1,000,000 m3 to 2,499,999 m3 $6,000
340,000 m3 to 999,999 m3 $2,000
Up to 339,999 m3 $1,000

Additional terms and conditions apply. Projects must be pre-approved by Enbridge Gas. Volumetric savings are based either on Enbridge Gas approved engineering calculations or Enbridge Gas validated performance metrics. Enbridge Gas makes no warranty or guarantee regarding the estimated savings of any energy-efficiency measure. Replacements of existing energy-efficient equipment do not qualify. High-volume projects will be reviewed on a per-project basis. All applications are reviewed by Enbridge Gas and require verification of eligibility, proof of purchase and installation. Incentives cannot exceed 50 percent of the incremental project’s cost and are only made available to customers where Enbridge Gas energy-efficiency offer(s) have impacted the customer’s decision to proceed with the improvement(s). HST is not applicable and will not be added to incentive payments. Programs are subject to change or cancellation without notice at any time.
