Enbridge Gas expanded its service to Green River, and the project is now in service. With the extension complete, approximately 450 homes and businesses gained access to natural gas. Enbridge Gas anticipated that the addition of natural gas service would support the area’s expected and potential growth.

Frequently asked questions

Multiple rural communities were surveyed to determine their interest in natural gas. All potential communities were evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Project cost
  • The number of potential new customers
  • The impact on current Enbridge Gas Utah operations and current infrastructure

Following this evaluation, Enbridge Gas extended natural gas service to Green River. The project is now in service, providing approximately 450 homes and businesses with access to natural gas. Enbridge Gas anticipated that this new service would support the area’s expected and potential growth.

This project was the third to be proposed under House Bill 422. Following approval by the Utah Public Service Commission, construction began in early to mid‑2023 and was completed later that year. The project entered service in late 2023 and included the construction of approximately 14.5 miles of new natural gas pipeline and a distribution network. Preliminary routing was completed prior to construction.

Yes! This is an ongoing initiative for Enbridge Gas Utah. In partnership with the Utah State Legislature and the Utah Public Service Commission, we will continue this program to take affordable and reliable natural gas to more rural communities around the state of Utah.
