Enbridge Gas Receives Ontario Energy Board Approval for 2024 Distribution Rates
Enbridge Gas recently received approval from the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) to implement interim 2024 rates on May 1, 2024 (EB-2022-0200). The 2024 rates are interim pending the outcomes of Phase 2 of the rebasing application, as well as any impacts arising from Enbridge Gas’s Motion to Review to the OEB and appeal to Divisional Court. Phase 2 of the rebasing application will be filed on April 26, 2024.
The OEB also approved a rate adjustment rider (Rider E) to recover the revenue variance between the effective date of Jan. 1, 2024 and the implementation date of the approved rates of May 1, 2024.
An additional rider (Rider D) will be implemented to allow for the clearance of deferral and variance account balances.
Rider E and D will be in effect from May 1, 2024 to Dec. 31, 2024.
The Distributor Consolidated Billing Charges will be harmonized across rate zones. Effective May 1, 2024, they will be as follows:
Distributor Consolidated Billing Fee1 | $2.23 |
---|---|
Invoice Vendor Adjustment (IVA) Fee2 | $1.41 |
1per month, per account
2per successful transaction
Effective May 1, 2024, a Direct Purchase Administration Charge of $122 will be applied to all T1, T2, T3 and North T-Service customers in the Union North and South rate zones. Direct purchase customers in all service areas will see an increase of their Direct Purchase Administration Charge to $122 on their monthly bills. This charge will be a monthly fee per pool/contract and will eliminate the current per account charge of $0.21. These changes align direct purchase charges across all rate zones and were approved as part of this application.
The bill impacts below reflect the approved 2024 rates in addition to Riders D and E. Individual bill impacts will vary and depend upon a customer’s use of natural gas.
