For your safety and the safety of your family, property, and the public, Enbridge Gas technicians are required to comply with the Gas Installation Code. If a gas appliance does not meet safety requirements, the technician must issue a safety violation. Depending on the violation, gas service may be disconnected to the appliance or at the meter until the safety concern is corrected. To resolve the violation and restore gas service, you are responsible for hiring a licensed gas technician at your own expense to complete the necessary repairs.
If you are disputing a safety violation and/or seeking reimbursement for gas technician costs, please submit a claim and include:
- A copy of the licensed gas technician's invoice
- Technician notes or reports
- Photographs, if available
For disputes related to a gas leak safety violation, Enbridge Gas requires confirmation that a manometer was used during testing and the results of the test as seen on this short video. Results obtained using alternative leak detection methods or tools will not be considered when assessing a gas leak dispute.
