The Selwyn Community Expansion Project will enable Enbridge Gas Inc. (Enbridge Gas) to provide natural gas to the Town of Selwyn. This project is funded by approximately $1.7 million from the Ontario Government, in addition to the system expansion surcharge of 23 cents/m3 to be paid over a term of 40 years by all customers served by the project.

Federal, provincial, and municipal permits may also be required along with potential permits from the Otonabee Region Conservation Authority (ORCA). The following facilities will be required and subject to Leave-to-Construct approval:

  • Construction of approximately 8.4 km of Nominal Pipe Size (NPS) 6” and 2” High Performance Polyethylene (HPPE) pipe;
  • A station upgrade at Bridge Rd and Kelly Blvd; and
  • Tie in to NPS 4” HPPE system at Eighth Line Smith and Selwyn Rd.At this time, it is not anticipated that this line will tie into the Lakefield system.
